Programme Overview

Tourism is a multifaceted field of study and considered as relatively new in both global and national academic arena. the nature of the industry which covers a wide range of different sub-sectors has contributed to the development of a multi-field of studies in tourism. tourism management is a discipline of study which requires diploma graduates to be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and abilities in the generic or interdisciplinary academic knowledge and competency that ranges from tourism and hospitality fundamentals, travel and tour, recreation  visitor interpretation services, event management and operation, to other related tourism competencies.

The Diploma in Tourism Management is a three-year full-time programme comprising of six semester course work with one full semester of industrial training built-in. Student are prepared for their future role in the economy by building a solid foundation in tourism industrial knowledge and the essential skills, related to the divers field of the tourism industry.



Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

The Diploma in Tourism Management programme shall produce semi professionals who are:

• Able to deliver critical knowledge based understanding, coherent with highly develop technical skills and projected in a polished attitude in tourism fields.
• Effective in communication and able to prepares them with social skills, leadership qualities and willing to be responsible to works developing country and community.
• Able to develop and adapt some key analytically and technical skills in dealing with various environment.
• Able to demonstrate entrepreneurship skills and recognized the need of life long learning for successful carrier advancement.

Commerce Department

Programme Overview

Diploma in Accountancy  of polytechnic at the Ministry of Higher Education was created to provide graduates who are equipped with knowledge and skills in integrated education. Gained experience in the discipline, field and sub- field of financial accounting, auditing, taxation and cost and management accounting and information management, information technology, entrepreneurship and interpersonal development. Students who graduate in this program will be able to enter employment in any industry.

Department of Commerce Hulu Terengganu Polytechnic offers Diploma in Accountancy program. Program for 6 semesters ( 3 years ) this provides both theoretical and practical training to students in Accounting to meet the current market requirements. During this program, students are exposed to manual and computerized accounting to enable them to acquire skills relevant to industry needs. In addition, the program covers other fields related to accounting such as auditing, taxation and finance.
